Otro Naufragio

Silvia recibe una antigua maleta con varios objetos, entre ellos hay unos rollos fotográficos por revelar. Los lleva. En el camino se encuentra con su ex pareja y tiene esa conversación pendiente. Luego, una cita y una posibilidad para amar.

Un libro usado y en su interior, una carta de 1943 de dos emigrantes alemanes en Colombia. Un hotel en el centro de Bogotá y una habitación especifica. Silvia va. Se hospeda allí. Otra fotografía colgada en la pared. Atrás de ella otra carta y otra pista. Duerme allí. Sueña allí: Una correspondencia para amar, un sueño para vivir - Un espejo generacional-.

Finalmente Las lavanderas del río Cauca y del río Sena son testigos silentes del desarrollo de los relatos y de la historia.

Silvia receives an old suitcase containing various objects, including some undeveloped rolls of film. She takes them with her. On the way, she encounters her ex-partner and has that long-overdue conversation. Then, a date and a chance for love.

A used book and, inside it, a letter from 1943 from two German immigrants in Colombia. A hotel in downtown Bogotá and a specific room. Silvia goes there. She stays there. Another photograph, behind it another letter and another clue. She sleeps there. She dreams there. A correspondence to love, a dream to live: a generational mirror.

Finally, the washerwomen of the Cauca River and the Seine River are silent witnesses to the development of the stories and history.

"A poetic foray into trans-generational histories of exile and longing, displacement and violence, or love and loss. A fusion of family archives and cinematic imagination, of personal and political, ‘Otro Naufragio” searches for filmic methodologies that would allow a process of mourning and meaning-making to emerge. Between intuition, memory, and dream, it looks at how restless, centuries-old ghosts in our bodies - and lands - impact our affective connections today and the (im-)possibility of love."
